About the Project:

Safe and secure walking for people who are blind and partially sighted in the unitary authorities of Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Monmouthshire, Caerphilly and Torfaen. Guide dogs welcome! Walks are generally around 4 miles, take about 4 hours including a stop for lunch and cover all sorts of terrain – woodland, fields, bridle paths, tracks, rural roads. All walks are pre-walked by experienced guides who have been awareness trained. Walks are risk assessed and generally of a standard that can be undertaken by anyone with a low to moderate level of fitness. We walk at a pace that suits the slowest in the group, and the aim is to be out and about in the fresh air with friendly company.
