"Let’s Walk" Cymru - helping Rebuild Lives

A 58 yr old Merthyr housewife who has suffered from severe depression and anxiety attacks resulting in isolation for many years, after the tragic loss of her beloved 10 year old son, has been helped by the initiative – known as Let’s Walk Cymru - putting her in touch with a local Walking Group which has enabled herself and her 68 yr old husband who has recently undergone "a triple bypass operation" - to help in her words "change their lives"

Attending the Walking Group has brought with it a new lease of life. The social aspect has been such a wonderful experience, meeting new people, building friendships which now provide a support network, combined with the physical health benefits that walking can bring.

In her own words :

"They strongly recommend that people have the courage to take a "step" in the right direction – by having the confidence to join a walking group. Don’t be lonely, make friends, life is far too short – life your life to the Full."
