When preparing to take a walk, you need to take three important things into consideration - your clothing, your shoes, and your socks. Choosing the right clothes depend on the weather. During the hot weather, you should wear clothing that has the ability to reflect heat and light. Many people tend to wear cotton shirts because they are comfortable; however, they get easily when you sweat and they do not dry easily. This is why you should consider synthetic fibers which dry easily and will keep moisture away from your skin.
During the cold weather, you need to make sure that wear clothing that keep you warm. Your entire body, your head, your neck, your hands and your feet need to be kept warm. Once you have chosen the perfect clothing, you need to choose the right shoes.
When buying walking shoes, there are a few things that you should take into consideration. It is always better to buy shoes late in the day. This way you can be guaranteed that you will purchase the right fit due to the fact that your feet tend to swell during the day. You should also wear socks that are similar to the socks that you will be wearing during your walk.
Your shoes should be flexible and should be able to support your weight. You need to make sure that your toes have enough space to move freely. Never buy walking shoes without trying them on. If you try them on in the shop and they are not comfortable, you should not buy them. You will definitely not be able to walk in them.
The right socks are important to protect your feet from injuries. Research has shown that during a walk, one of your feet can sweat as much as one cup of perspiration a day. This amount of perspiration can cause your shoes to become easily damaged thus resulting in blisters and corns. This is why it is of utter importance that you do not go on your walk without socks. Socks keep your feet dry and cool but they should be changed every day.
